„Parabola vierilor” – O analiză din perspectiva lingvisticii cognitive

Abstract

This paper presents a cognitively based analysis in an attempt to show to what extent the parable is a “suitable” vehicle for transmitting Jesus’ message. Our aim is to prove that the parable is an appropriate genre for progressively revealing the existence of God’s realm which evokes the conceptual domain of divinity, that is, the spatial reference to the Kingdom of God. So, this paper claims that through parables humans have access to “transcendental notions,” such as divinity and Kingdom of God. Access is gained by using “human-sized notions” which are projections of the conceptual domain of the divinity. For testing our hypothesis, our article explores one of the parables of Jesus, namely, the Parable of the Wicked Tenants from a cognitive linguistic perspective.
