Acute coronary syndrome and mesenteric ischemia associated with atrial fibrillation. Successful endovascular intervention. Case study
Abstract
Currently, in the clinic of acute disorders, considerable attention is paid to the combinations of urgent conditions, bound by the common pathogenetic mechanism. Embolism syndrome is one of the common complications of atrial fibrillation, significantly worsening the disease outcome and the patients’ survival. In the clinical case reported, the patient with atrial fibrillation was diagnosed with the combined embolic lesions of the coronary and mesenteric arteries. The tactics of endovascular intervention in both arterial basins was selected. The door-to-balloon time was 31 minutes for the coronary intervention, and 52 minutes for the mesenteric artery intervention. No abdominal computed tomography was performed, which made it possible to reduce the time on assessment.
