CONNOTATIVE SEMANTICS IN A MODERN POLITICAL TERM

Abstract

The article is devoted to the adequate interpretation of the term’s nature, which requires the dynamic treatment of its semantics, setting off the defiance of this language unit contradiction, including some of its absolute features (monosemantics, definite relationship with a denotation, absence of connotation). It is caused by the variability of the knowledge about the concept of a confident sphere. National peculiarities of the connotative aspect of the terms-correlyatives are outlined in the article. Expanding the research paradigm – from linguocentric (structural) to the anthropocentric (ethnocentric) reveals discursive essence of the term politonim, its features and functions in a real communicative process. It enables to describe not only lingual but also ideological and cultural coding system in the political terminology.
