This article reviews current perspectives on the issue of globalization and development and dependence in the context of contemporary logic and identity in Latin America. The thesis proposal is the claim that one of the fundamental logical and epistemological problems in Latin America has been adapting its “development” under the logical model of European identity. To demonstrate this approach the logical relations that sustain the idea of development - and hence of development - in Latin America are analyzed, from the understanding of dialectical categories such as identity, difference, complexity, simplicity and homogeneity-heterogeneity. - The method used is logical hermeneutic which consists of two parts: a comprehensive and extensive one. The first part is done in phenomenological exercise in conceptual analysis of the meaning of search terms. The second contrasts the findings with references about the pragmatic use of these concepts.
