New trends in tourism take into account the expectations of the modern generation of tourists who prefers the games available in a variety of mobile devices. It is reasonable to create forms of sightseeing that provide cultural and natural heritage through interactive games in an open space which meet tourist needs. Increasingly are taken activities to popularize innovative methods of exploring of urban and rural area, regional education, creative leisure. It is important to promote of the idea which motivates to learning about “small homelands“ and develops the trend called of “4 x E“ (entertainment, emotion, education, engagement). Implementation of this idea is carried out by outdoor field games (e.g. tourist and education games, questing, geocatching) and cultural events (happening, LARP etc.). The paper presents the contemporary forms of tourism reflecting trends related to the way of thinking of the current generation. It exists in the world of virtual experiences which determine the interests of potential tourists. Modern animation of tourism needs innovative methods of tourist activating.
