Factors Affecting Net Job Creation In Gia Lai Province

The study used the method by Davis, Haltiwanger and Schul (1996) and regression model of Masso, Eamets and Philips (2005) with the data of 124 firms collected by the Bureau of Statistics of Gia Lai province in annual firm surveys for period 2006-2013 to analyse net job flows and determine factors affecting net jobs of firms in Gia Lai province. The study showed that the average rate of net jobs of firms in Gia Lai is much higher than the national average rate. There are 5 factors that significantly affect the net jobs of firms in Gia Lai province, including 2 positive factors (age of firms and labor productivity) and 3 negative factors (firm size based on the number of employees, the level of capital intensity and workers’ incomes)
