The review includes an analytical review of the multi-authored monograph The Phenomenon of the Incomplete describing incompleteness in literature through the prism of its parts. The author studies the subchapters of the book on the definition of incompleteness: the introduction by T. A. Snigireva and A. V. Podchinenov, the article of I. E. Vasilyev; the introduction of A. V. Pertsev devoted to the philosophic aspects of incompleteness; the afterword of L. P. Bykov where he studies the problem of incompleteness of a creative biography; the philological investigation of O. N. Turysheva explaining one type of incompleteness in the creative work of F. Kafka by means of another; the articles that search for the incomplete in the complete, be it archetypal plots (the article of L. N. Zhitkova and N. V. Prashcheruk) or Tvardovsky’s poetry (the article of T. A. Snigireva); the article of O. G. Sidorova that considers the phenomenon of the incomplete through the concept of perception (in the creative work of J. G. Farrell); the subchapters devoted to the problem of the incomplete in a poetic text (e. g., A. M. Menshchikova’s article on Anna Akhmatova); the poetics of the incomplete (articles of M. Yu. Mukhin, A. V. Kubasov and O. A. Mikhailova on the three dots as a sign of incompleteness).
