Probabilistic optimal power flow in power systems with Renewable energy integration using Enhanced walrus optimization algorithm
Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to solve the Probabilistic Optimal Power Flow (POPF) problem using the Enhanced Walrus Optimization (EWO) Algorithm. The proposed EWO is applied to the 30 and 118-bus IEEE systems, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling the complexities of the grid with renewable energy sources (RESs). The algorithm effectively addresses the uncertainties associated with RES generation, ensuring system reliability and minimizing generation costs. The proposed optimization method performs better than existing algorithms, achieving smooth and speedy convergence with high solution accuracy. The research findings demonstrate that the EWO is an efficient tool for tackling the POPF problem in power systems with RESs. Moreover, the effectiveness of the proposed methodology is extensively clarified by the sensitivity analyses. This work demonstrates the potential of the EWO as a viable method for RES integration-assisted power system optimization, providing opportunities for more study into cutting-edge grid optimization techniques.
