Apart from setting the theoretical framework for pedagogical – psychological survey of the problem, in this article we present the results of the empirical research of some educational activities which aim to contribute to the process of building and maintaining the sense of self–worth among elementary school students. The age-appropriate guidance by a teacher/ educator results in a child’s responsible behavior; it helps them to adapt better to the world of adults, identify their strengths, believe in their future, boost their self-confidence and develop their self-respect (Hadžić-Suljkić, 2015). The goal is to teach the students that a person of firm character is capable of coping with the challenges of their social surrounding and their time. Eventually, based on the empirical evidence, it is our intention to help school pedagogues-psychologists and educators with creating the program of building students’ self-respect, which is vital for the growth and development of each individual.
