The main objective of this paper is to resume the history of Sarau da Gruta, a cultural collective in São Paulo’s literary scene. Founded in 2013, by a group of friends fond of poetry, the Sarau da Gruta opened space not only for dialogue but also for artistic creation and appreciation. Be it in the poetic scope, performative, or through music and interventions in public and private spaces, the collective changed the relation between subject and the urban space, more specifically in the city of São Paulo. In this aspect it is in our interest to analyse a few points, covering mainly the following axes: i. revisit the history of São Paulo’s collective Sarau da Gruta; ii. discuss issues that permeate the main vectors of criticism, exposing the way in which specialised readers understand the formats and dynamics that go through cultural gatherings; iii. verify to what extent the literary manifestations spread in the Sarau da Gruta are linked to other genres, such as: rap, hip-hop, dance, plastic arts, etc.; and finally, iv. from a formal standpoint, interpret the strategies for the construction of poetic materialities, in order to identify and understand theoretical and methodological aspects that characterise such texts.
