Case-Based Direct Composite Resin Veneer Simulation Lab Exercise

Abstract

Abstract This case-based exercise was created for use in a preclinical operative dentistry course. It is intended for second-year dental students. This case can be used to establish a realistic esthetic clinical situation that may present itself to a dental practitioner. In addition to showing student how the patient presents, this case covers the basics of information gathering for treatment planning purposes, treatment plan presentation, and how to perform the subsequent treatment. This work is effective because it allows the dental student to relate to a clinical situation, determine appropriate restorative treatment options, and implement the proposed treatment.
