Scientific-innovative complex of the sfd in the мacro-regional economy of knowledge (trends after the soviet period)

Abstract

The main tendencies of development of the scientific and innovative complex of the South of Russia (SFD) in the post-Soviet period are investigated in the article. The dynamics of the central characteristics of this complex is analyzed: the number and structure of scientific institutions, the number of scientists, the financing of research developments. The ways of adapting the regional science to the socio-economic conditions and realities of the 21st century are being studied. The ways of activating the transfer of knowledge from the sphere of scientific developments to the real economy are considered. It is concluded that the most promising for innovation development are the territories of the western regions of the Southern Federal District — the Rostov Region, the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea.
