Internal Evaluation of the Department of Nursing of the Qom University of Medical Sciences in 2018, (Iran)

Background and Objectives: Internal evaluation is a dynamic and continuous process, which has a high effectiveness and improves the quantity and quality of the group's education system due to the participation of all members of the group. The purpose of this study was internal evaluation of the Department of Nursing of Qom University of Medical Sciences in 2018. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in order to internal evaluation of the Department of Nursing of the school of Nursing and Midwifery of Qom University of Medical Sciences in 2018. Students, graduates, faculty members, and head of Department of Nursing, and dean and deputy of education and research of the faculty, were selected by census sampling method. A questionnaire approved by the Center for Studies of Qom University of Medical Sciences, was used during the first 6 months of the year 2018. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics methods. Results: In this study, the score percentage obtained by the Department of Nursing in 9 factors of internal evaluation was 89.78% for management and organization, 88.88% for mission and goals of education, 84.7% for faculty member, 79.6% for educational group, 79.86% for educational curriculum, 72.5% for assessment and evaluation, 69.34% for students, 68.76% for graduates, and 67.29% for physical space. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the highest score was related to the management and organization and the lowest score was for graduates and physical space.
