Adaptación de un programa de intervención para violencia situacional de parejas
Abstract
This article presents the adaptation of an intervention program for situational couple violence that is based on a systemic and solution-focused approach to the problem. The authors discuss the literature on the effectiveness of different interventions for intimate partner violence and the relevance of couples’ therapy for treating situational violence. Later, the adaptation process to the Colombian context of an intervention program developed by Stith, McCollum and Rosen (2011) is described. The findings of the assessment of the preliminary adaptation design show that the clients perceive changes in terms of: the elimination of physical violence, a reduction of psychological violence, and an increase in the time the couple spend together and a stronger communication and intimacy between them. Lastly, the findings are compared to other evidence-based programs for couple violence.
