Managing environmental issues: a case for substantive reform

Abstract

Over the last two years, UNEP, Care International andvarious other partners have been assessing the status ofenvironmental concerns in humanitarian response andadvocating the need for change. Given that present practiceswithin the international humanitarian community are oftenboth environmentally unsustainable and resistant to change,we face a formidable challenge.
