Abstract

This special issue on ”experiments in ethnography” is published in honour of ethnologist Billy Ehn. The introduction uses his research during four decades to capture major changes in ways of doing and writing ethnography. What happens when the classic long fieldworks are replaced by a bricolage approach, where very different kinds of materials are combined? How do ethnographers handle the ways in which interviews and observations are mixed with netography – blogs, images and YouTube sequences?
