Punishment has always existed in human civilization. The punishment for breaking a social behavior rule is assigned to the offender. Punishment might take many different forms, from the notion of condemning the perpetrator and subsequently exacting personal or group vengeance to the notion of reforming and rehabilitating the criminal. Modern criminal law has also tended to increase the judge's ability to determine the sentence and other aspects of the case, while simultaneously taking the criminal's personality into consideration and the law's procedural requirements. Additionally, the suspension system provides a way to personalize punishment. It is regarded as one of the most successful techniques, particularly for so-called accident-al criminals because the freedom-depriving punishment may corrupt the offender rather than correcting and reforming him. Through this paper, we will shed light on this alternative punishment by addressing Its concept, the difference between it and similar systems, its rules, its forms, its conditions, and the consequences thereof.
