Revisiting the Exact Identity of Vedic Aryans: Are pūru-s the only ārya-s?

Abstract

Contrary to the view of some scholars, it is shown that pūrus are not the onlyāryas, but one among several ārya tribes. In particular ikṣvāku andyadu are among the ārya tribes and rāma and kṛṣṇa being the pillars of ārya dharma. yajñarituals form the basis of Vedic culture and Vedic āryans perform yajña, offer worship to agni, Indra, ashvins and other gods and follow the path of ṛta.
