The use of the new TIC in classroom, nowadays, arises as an essential aspect of knowledge, as well in the history teaching, contributing as a meaningful way of learning in an educa-tional mosaic, where the modern becomes outdated quickly and the traditional methods of teaching/learning are not good enough to support students’ needs of the called ‘Z’ genera-tion, the technological natives who face the changings, after all, the speed of information, as an integral part of reality. | 303It will be presented, here, a methodology which deals with the cinema, the movies and its possibilities of historical awareness and identity reinforcement in a way of development.It will be used the movie 12 years of slave (2014) which is full of temporal, geographical and religious information and its influences as to identities which is focused on the narrative as an object of studying for different contents of history subject. Therefore, the TIC will be linked to the history teaching, in order to stimulate reflection/ investigation/ contextualized value of action, developing a historical awareness.
