With the 1991 economic liberalization, India started to establish the Software Technology Park of India (STPI), a scheme settled to support the economic growth in information technologies sector. Sometime, in regard to the city, the regional scale and the private sector have followed, building others IT parks. These parks covered multi-realities, from a simple tower to a township, and so, new cities have coming up in the town. They took an important role in the economic development of Pune, starting to promote its place in the regional scheme. However, they also give an impression of socio-spatial segregation.
