This article seeks to contribute to the actual debate around the Judiciary, Politics and Media. Expressions such as judicial activism, judicial protagonism and government of judges demonstrate, in certain extent, some of the changes occurred in contemporary democracies. Interactions between judicial functions and the political system – more specifically the political dimension of court rulings – has awakened renewed interests among political scientists, legal scholars and sociology researchers. Our challenge is to accurately describe the visibility and media around the Judiciary branch, taking into account which risks to democracy can arise from the broadening of judicial power and the growing power of judges.
