Avifauna of the Botanic Garden of Petrozavodsk State University

Abstract

The history of the study of the species composition of birds in the vicinity of the city of Petrozavodsk is described. The first results of studies of hollow-nesting birds using the method of observation of artificial nesting sites in the territory of the Botanic Garden of PetrSU are presented. A list of species has been compiled indicating the nature of the stay of birds on the territory of the Botanical Garden according to observations in 2015-2022. The goals of ornithological research of the summer field practice of students of the Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agrotechnologies of PetrSU are described. The activities of the Botanic Garden to popularize ornithological knowledge are shown.
