Abstract

Towards a comprehensive history of ancient Israel This paper reflects on the aim of ancient Israelite historiography and argues for a comprehensive approach to the history of Israel. In such an approach various aspects of that history (political, socio-cultural, religious and literary) and their dynamic mutual interrelation should be accounted for. The classification of the history in various historical periods should also integrate with this comprehensive approach.
