A study of farcical interlude scenes in plays by Luis Vélez de Guevara and, to a lesser extent, Moreto, Rojas Zorrilla and other playwrights. A study of Correr por amor fortuna (Vélez’s only known cloak and dagger play, of which there is only one known copy, and of which there is only one known performance) from the standpoint of the farcical scene in Act III. A textual analysis of this interlude scene as the source for passages in Trancos IV and V of El Diablo Cojuelo.
