Basic features of the Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Data (FRSAD) model
Abstract
This article aims to introduce the main features of the Functional Requirements Model for Subject Authority Data (FRSAD), in terms of its need, objectives, scope, origin, reasons for its issuance, methodology for its preparation, and its relationship to the FRBR and FRAD models, as well as its relationship to related models such as the Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS), the Web Ontology Language (OWL), and the Dublin Core Initiative. The DCMI metadata, as well as its relationship with subject authority systems, its application in the rules for Resources Description and Access (RDA), and its Arabization efforts and translations into other languages.
