Abstract
La diócesis de Cartagena recurrió durante la Edad Moderna a la hagiografía de los cuatro santos hermanos: San Fulgencio, San Leandro, San Isidoro y Santa Florentina, para legitimar, dignificar y evidenciar la importancia de esta diócesis vinculándola a la vida y obra de estos santos locales. Para ello hizo uso de su imagen mediante la representación de los cuatro santos en los principales programas artísticos que durante este tiempo se desarrollaron en el Reino de Murcia, destacando las representaciones en la Catedral de Murcia y en la ciudad natal de los cuatro santos, Cartagena, aunque también se hizo extensible al resto del territorio.
