Abstract

The Paraguayan invasion in the Brazilian province of Rio Grande do Sul was planned in detail . Paraguayan President Francisco Solano Lopez personally coordinated the actions that the troop held . The transposition of rivers and streams has been an important input in the planning. Brazilian and Paraguayan rivers were the key operations.
