The paper presents how truss structures can be used in building different types of spatial constructions. The authors are presenting a documented history of truss structures, through time, from simple to complex structural systems. The presentation starts with the most common and simple structure, the planar truss system, and moves on until the more complex cylindrical and double curvature systems.
