Effect of graphene oxide on mechanical properties of different rubbers: Experiment and molecular simulation
Abstract
Natural rubber (NR), styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), and carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR) were reinforced using graphene oxide (GO). The tensile properties and binding energy of three nanocomposites were studied through experiments and molecular simulations. The results indicated that GO had a good reinforcement effect on both SBR and XNBR. The compatibility between GO and XNBR is the best and the interfacial interaction between them is the strongest. GO/XNBR nanocomposites has the best tensile property.
