ESTUDIO DE FACTIBILIDAD DEL USO DEL BIODIESEL COMO FASE CONTINUA EN LODOS DE PERFORACIÓN DE EMULSIÓN INVERSA
Abstract
In well drilling, have a lot of importance the inverse emulsion drilling fluids, due to the increase of the drilling rate and the stability of the formation, but with the inconvenient of the economical cost and the environmental treatment. This investigation work has as fundamental goal to research in alternative technologies such as biodiesel that provide more efficiency, less costs and a lower environmental impact. This work is based in the research and elaboration of a parallel between drilling fluids that use diesel as continuos phase and those that use biodiesel, mainly showing advantage and disadvantages. Among the test that were conduced are: high pressure, high temperature filtration (HPHT), reology, density, API filtration and chemical test for oil based drilling fluids. The formulation of a biodiesel based drilling fluid will bring several contributions to the industry, including the obtention of an own drilling fluid non toxic and biodegradable which can be use in sensitive ecosystems like wetlands, forest and in offshore drilling, trying an technological advance in drilling fluids in Colombia and generating business opportunities because of its marketing.
