Comparative genomic and transcriptome analysis of Bacillus velezensis CL-4 fermented corn germ meal
Abstract
Key points Comparative genomics and transcriptomics revealed that B. velezensis encodes a series of lignocellulosic enzymes capable of degrading polysaccharides. Arabinoxylan degradation mainly occurs after 48 h of B. velezensis CL-4 fermentation, followed by the partial degradation of cellulose, pectin and starch. Exogenous cellulase could significantly improve the fermentation quality of corn germ meal.
