DIVERSITAS DEWAN KOMISARIS PADA PERUSAHAAN DIGITAL KREATIF DAN KINERJA KEUANGAN
Abstract
Advertising companies in the era of industry 4.0 and the era of society 5.0 face formidable challenges, in the digital and social media eras where the existences of creative content creators and advertising providers are not dominated by big companies anymore but individuals such as celebrities and youtubers. This makes the management of advertising companies need to conduct transformations and various strategic steps to increase competitiveness to survive. In making strategic decisions, the effective supervision of the board of commissioners plays an important role to align with the interests of shareholders. This study aims to investigate the effect of board of commissioner’s diversity on financial performance. Using multiple linear regression tests on advertising companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019, the results of this study prove that the diversity of the board of directors affects financial performance. This study contributes to providing empirical evidence of the effect of board of commissioner’s diversity which consists of 6 components on the financial performance of advertising companies, which are the creative digital industry sector. The result is 2 of 6 component diversity, which are education and experience are proven to be components that have impact on firm performance especially in digital creative industry.
