Human resource management could leverage global environmental concerns to promote green practices. Moreover, protecting the environment is a major concern in modern society. Among other tools, Green human resource management (GHRM) is integral to implementing such a strategy. This study aimed to examine the impact of GHRM on eco-friendly behavior among Cambodian government employees (n = 396) and how organizational commitment acts as a mediator of this relationship using a quantitative approach and built a research instrument to probe these effects. Also, a bootstrapping procedure was used in this study to estimate the path coefficients within a reflective PLS-SEM. The results of this study indicate that GHRM is an effective and systematic method for increasing employee commitment and eco-friendly behavior in Cambodian public institutions. Additionally, it is confirmed that organizational commitment partially mediates the relationship between GHRM and eco-friendly behavior among employees. This work sought to contribute significantly to the field of GHRM and address a significant gap in the existing literature.
