The main areas of activity of the Scientific institution library of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the conditions of martial law

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to reveal the main areas of the library's activity of the scientific institution library of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the conditions of martial law (on the example of the Scientific and Technical Library of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). Methodological basis. Such approaches of scientific knowledge as objectivity and connection of theory and practice, the principle of unity of relationship with modern conditions and methods of observation, generalization, analysis are used for this research. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the main areas of activity of the Scientific and Technical Library of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are presented and the peculiarities of the library activity in the conditions of martial law are represented. Conclusions. The carried out analysis allowsus to form systematic ideas about the specifics of the functioning of the scientific institutions libraries in the conditions of martial law. The Scientific and Technical Library of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, founded in 1934, is one of the largest in the network of scientific institutions libraries of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with a unique highly specialized fund. In addition to traditional methods of user service, librarians use innovative forms of information and bibliographic user service in the conditions of a full-scaleinvasion of Russian troops on the territory of independent Ukraine; master additional channels of communication with users in a modern scientific environment; is an examplefor the introduction of new promising areas of activity for the network of academic libraries.
