In order to enrich the variety of space structure materials, expand the application range of Zr alloy.Zr-Al binary alloys with Al content of 2%,3% and 4% were melted in a non-consumable arc furnace and annealed at 750 ℃ and 800 ℃ for 4 h,respectively. The microstructure and fracture morphology of the alloy were analyzed by means of optical microscope,X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope, and hardness and tensile tests were carried out.The results show that the as-cast microstructure of Zr-4Al alloy changes from α-Zr and Zr2Al to α-Zr and Zr3Al phases with better plasticity after annealing at 750 ℃ for 4 h.Under the same heat treatment conditions, the hardness and tensile strength of alloy increase with the increase of Al content, but the elongation decreases. With the same Al content in the alloy, the hardness, tensile strength and elongation of alloy decrease with the increase of heat treatment temperature.A new Zr-Al alloy was prepared by adding Al to Zr and heat treatment, which provided a new idea for the development of new spatial structure materials.
