Methodology for database collection of Taxi drivers' behavior in real time
Abstract
In any city of the world, the taxi paths provide a big reasonable data source for urban studies given their ability to capture a large proportion of trips between different origins and destinations. In order to collect data in real time in situ from public service drivers (Taxis), a questionnaire which had two components was designed: i) Survey of revealed preferences and personality aspects through direct observation of drivers and ii) route information through GPS devices that measure distance and time during the journey.Data collection focused on the reaction to information about and during a trip, drivers’ willingness to receive information about the network, their personality profile, their behavior when driving and their influence on the choice of a route.Taxi Data collection, Driver Behavior, Human factors, Route choice.
