Macroanatomical investigations on the dural sinuses in akkaraman sheep and their extracranial connections

Abstract

The dural sinuses of Akkaraman sheep and their connections with veins of the he ad and neck were studied by macroanatomic observations. Information obtained from gross dissection supports the idea suggesting the cavernous sin us plays a very significant role in the termoregulation of the brain, since it has been a critical anatomical position and connections with the extracranial veins.
