Background: Today, advances in medical sciences and the development of numerous specialties and subspecialties have led to the overlap of treatment in practicing medicine. Understanding this issue and interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of medical education and treatment can improve the quality of medical services. Among these specialties, there is a close association between internal medicine and orthopedic surgery, which has brought up the term "internal orthopedics." Method: Considering the importance of the similarities between internal medicine and orthopedics, our goal was to introduce a method to increase awareness of internal orthopedic terminology in the curricula of specialized courses. Based on our review of various articles and our clinical experience as an internal specialist and orthopedist, we recognized the importance of this relationship. Conclusion: It is hoped that by carefully investigating this relationship, we can reach a new perspective in modern medical science.
