MEDIAMORPHOSIS TV ONE IN NEW ERA MEDIA
Abstract
New media is developing so rapidly that it causes the television industry as an old media to adapt to these changes. One of the strategies carried out by the television industry is by conducting mediamorphosis and media convergence to remain competitive. This study aims to examine the mediamorphosis carried out by TV One as the news television industry in Indonesia and the journalistic convergence applied by TV One with other media incorporated in the Viva Group, namely ANTV and Viva.co.id.In this study constructivism paradigms, qualitative methodologies, and phenomenological research methods are used. The results showed that mediamorphosis was implemented by TV One by conducting journalistic convergence which included newsroom convergence,newsgathering convergence, and content convergence. Editor of TV One collaborates directly with other media incorporated in the Viva Group. TV One as a news center. The conclusion of this research is, TV One has not implemented all levels of journalistic convergence because there are significant differences in news content between the three media incorporated in the Viva Group. However, TV One's decision, as a news television, to converge journalism is a step forward to maintain its existence and provide the best service to viewers. Mediamorphosis, TV One, New Media
