The Beginnings of the Academic Career of Ștefan Procopiu

Abstract

The two authors of the study approach the first steps of the impressive scientific career of acad. Ștefan Procopiu (1890-1972), and his fundamental discoveries, namely: determination of the molecular magnetic moment, the Procopiu phenomenon (longitudinal depolarization of colloidal and crystalline solutions), and the Procopiu effect (study of the Barkhausen effect and of magnetic discontinuity).
