La decadencia de un sistema sanitario y las consecuencias en la salud de sus habitantes The decadence of a health system and the consequences for the inhabitants' health
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, longitudinal, retrospectivo, de pacientes atendidos en la consulta de Cirugía Maxilofacial del Hospital San Paulos de la Ciudad de Addis Ababa en la República Federal Democrática de Etiopía, en el período de julio del 2002 a octubre del 2005, portadores de enfermedades tumorales con crecimientos groseramente deformantes y destructores de las estructuras orofaciales. Se pone de manifiesto la importancia de la globalización de una medicina con un sistema de salud ético, científico y humano.A descriptive, longitudinal, retrospective study of the patients that received attention at the office of Maxillofacial Surgery of San Paulos Hospital, in the city of Addis Ababa, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, from July 2002 to October 2005, was undertaken. These patients were carriers of tumoral diseases with grossly deforming and destructive growths of the orofacial structures. It is stressed the importance of the globalization of medicine with an ethical, scientific and human health system.
