This study, which aims to measure the impact of Web 2.0 tools on student success and motivation in English lessons of digital natives in primary schools, is a mixed methods research in which both quasi-experimental and qualitative research techniques are applied. The study was conducted in Bursa, Turkey. The participants of the quantitative part of the study were 4th grade students with similar characteristics. The data of the qualitative part of the study were obtained from the experimental group teacher and parents. According to the results of the study, Web 2 tools used in English lessons in primary schools increase both students’ academic success. At the same time, these tools increased permanence in education and reduced the difference in level between classes. Web 2 tools have made positive contributions to the development of meaning, reading and speaking skills in foreign language education and to increasing interest and motivation in the course. In addition, Web 2.0 tools used in English lessons have provided social benefits such as increasing communication and interaction, having fun, and developing technological intelligence. It is thought that the use of Web 2.0 tools and technological arguments in teaching foreign languages to today’s children born in a digital world will provide important data and parameters to both educators, decision makers and policy makers.
