This article wishes to detail how Protestant theologians interpreted Luhmann’s theory of organization. Especially highlighted is the way these thinkers applied Luhmann’s theory of organization to the ecclesiastical community or parish. The author attempts to explain why Luhmann’s theory was so attractive to these theologians and which of its aspects they found most stimulating and useful
