Guglielmo Marconi nella grande guerra tra patriottismo e intuizioni innovative

Abstract

The many activities performed by Guglielmo Marconi during the World War One, on behalf of Italy and for the benefit of the Italian Army, have not found much space in the copious historiography concerning Marconi’s life and discoveries. This lack of information still exists today despite the impact on successive telecommunication development of experimental researches started by Marconi in this period to answer some needs arisen on the Austro - Italian front. The present paper is a contribution aimed to fill this knowledge gap, on the base of an in-depth investigation carried out especially in the Italian Army and Air Force archives.
