PROJETO E PRODUÇÃO CARTOGRÁFICA DO GUIA TURÍSTICO ELETRÔNICO DAS REPRESAS PAULISTAS PARA INTERNET

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the cartographic design and production of an eletronic atlas in the internet, in order to disseminate touristic information for the reservoirs of São Paulo state. The study case is the Laranja Doce reservoir, located in Martinópolis County. The maps were produced by using Arc/Info 7.1 and ArcView 3.0 packages. The cartographic design was based on analysis of geographic information characteristics, such as dimensional properties, which depended upon the scales adopted, and the measurement level. The graphic semiology approach was adopted for symbol design. The Atlas was implemented by using Frontpage (HTML language and JavaScript), for the site production and Flash for animation. This site aims at the diffusion of this kind of touristic product, that will help people to gain knowledge about reservoirs touristic areas. Additionaly, this will give support to the tourists in their trip planning.
