Abstract: This article deals with the conflict between social values within short stories translated from a foreign language. Although short literary texts are highly suitable for educational purposes, especially in teaching foreign languages, they can also be a source of negative opinions and preconceived judgments. Such a situation can create a significant gap between the child as a learner and reality. What educational methods can help us create a better cultural environment for children so that they can communicate positively and freely without misunderstandings or cultural barriers? Keywords: children's literature, short story, educational literature, acculturation, national literature.
