Les réseaux transnationaux de défense des droits de l'homme en Colombie : autour de la socialisation de l'Etat
Abstract
Under the theory of the socialization of States and advocacy seeking networks, the article applies the spiral model to analyze the role played by certain non-state actors which exercise pressure on the State through a process of human rights assimilation. The focus is on the role of national and international NGOs and international organizations in the development of a human rights defense network in Colombia. The Colombian case is of particular interest because, having engaged in discourse on human rights with the international community, the State has implemented programs on fundamental rights, affirmed their respect in the Constitution and the law, and signed and ratified most of the relevant international instruments, while still demonstrating very serious rates of violations of these rights.
