A brief focus on 2022 Italian guidelines on the management of bronchiolitis in infants

Abstract

The intersociety consensus document “UPDATE - 2022 Italian guidelines on the management of bronchiolitis in infants” aimed to update the previously published clinical practice guidelines on the prevention and treatment of bronchiolitis in newborns and infants. Moreover, due to the tremendous disagreement among the clinical practice guidelines and approaches to viral bronchiolitis, the new intersociety consensus document also aimed to unify diagnostic and therapeutic criteria, reinforce the current recommendations, and integrate the most recent advances for optimal care of viral bronchiolitis. The document addresses care in both hospitals and primary care.
