Abstract
This article aims at: i) reflecting on the poetics of translation of Latin American translators and writers Santiago Perednik, Jorge Luis Borges and Haroldo de Campos; ii) examining their ideas about the theory and practice of translation, particularly their methods and their critical viewpoints on the notion of “source texts”; iii) showing the hierarchical and subordinate relations connected to “inequality with regard to source texts” and before the diversity of perspectives prevailing in Translation Studies today.
