Abstract

Every time through our Journal we try to present a collection of research papers and studies that bring to light new ambit of interdisciplinary research. With a similar aim, another attempt has been made to bring you an assortment of some interesting works in this 14th volume of the Dev Sanskriti International Interdisciplinary Journal. This issue caters to a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary fields and topics ranging from environmental issues to psychology, from economics to chemical sciences, education and sociology. All of them are trying to integrating science and spirituality at their own level. The first research article of this issue deals with the study of impact of counseling’s on self-efficiency in girls. The author Deepak Singh, et. al., had studied the psychological effect of counseling on 100 girls and concluded that counseling’s does have positive impact on self-efficiency in girls. Among the international contribution Maureen P. Hall and Mary Keator shares their insight about different contemplative practices and pedagogy of east and west. This article chronicles the conscious effort to create community between two like-minded professors who were religiously brought together. Smartphone has became an integrated part of today’s life and it has significant changed cultural norms of behavior of individual. Neha Yadav explored the uses of smartphone for management students. In her study by using Descriptive statistical technique she concluded that there are three main predictors of smartphone usages among management students - sharing & collaboration, Learning, and Creativity & innovation. Pradeep shah et. al., investigated the physico-chemical parameters of groundwater for drinking purpose taking different reference points in their study. Their research concludes that hard water and high level of EC is not suitable for drinking purpose and recommended that water treatment techniques such as boiling and filtration reduced the hardness in water. Rahul Kumar Satuna presents his study on in Intercultural Communication exploring its Social attributes, and Promoting Components. In his research article he discussed the impact of intercultural communication and its challenges and concluded that understanding the patterns of interaction between cross cultures peoples/groups. We would like to congratulate and thank all of the contributors and reviewers who made this edition of DSIIJ possible. We hope this issue will inspire and generate interest among researchers, educators, policy makers and professionals to understand the significance of indigenous knowledge in the present era. We would also like to thank all our readers and request them to send us their valuable feed back to make this journal a more effective vehicle of indigenous knowledge in the future.
